Crynodeb

Wigtownshire Stuff was established in 2018 by local families and individuals and is overseen by a
Board of Trustees. In 2021, Wigtownshire Stuff became a SCIO and in 2023 and it merged with
Stewartry Action Support (SAS) and became Wigtownshire and Stewartry Partnership (WaSP).
We are a grassroots/community-based organisation with a primary purpose of developing real
opportunities with and for younger adults with additional support needs across the area; aswell as
creating a variety of opportunities for the wider community of people with additional support
needs. Our core ethos is about creating space, conversations and confidence with people with
additional support needs to come up with ideas for activities and projects etc… and then working
alongside them to put their ideas into practice.
Everything we do is about focussing on what people can do, their skills, their assets, and their
interests and with the right support from their families, their community, and others, what they can
achieve.
We are currently looking to recruit a Projects Lead Officer, a key role within the organisation to
take us into the future confidently and professionally.
Projects Lead Officer post duties:
21 hours per week (potential to be full-time pending further funding)
£15.5 per hour
Appointment for one year (potential to be permanent pending review and further funding)
Days/times of work are flexible but may require some evening/weekend work at times
The Projects Lead Officer will have managerial responsibility for and take the lead on the charity’s
various projects and will work alongside members, families and the Board to develop other
projects and apply for funding to facilitate this. They will make sure projects are delivered
effectively, on time and within budget. All of these, whether current or new projects will retain the
core ethos of the charity and it will be the responsibility of the Projects Lead Officer to ensure this.
The Projects Lead Officer will have the ultimate responsibility for delivering on the aims and
objectives of the organisation as directed by the Board. This is a managerial role with oversight of
all aspects of the work of the charity, being the main link to the Board, supporting the project staff
and volunteers with the day to day operations of the current projects and activities aswell as
developing new projects.
The key responsibilities will be:
1. Overseeing projects through their whole life-cycle
2. Team leadership
3. Resource management
4. Stakeholder engagement
5. Communication with people on all levels
6. Fund-raising and income generation

3. Community development and capacity-building,
4. Project management; preferably more than one project at a time,

8. Problem solving and decision-making,
9. Workload management and prioritising,
10. Financial acumen.
Important:
At present we only have funding secured for this role to be a part-time post, there is potential for it
to become a full-time post in time but until we are in a position to do so Board Trustees will assist
the Projects Lead Officer in carrying out the duties required to keep the charity running efficiently.
The duties of this role will be regularly reviewed with the post-holder and the requirements may
change over time and as the charity develops.
