About the role
The Information Security Engineer is responsible for safeguarding Lantern Group IT infrastructure and data from security threats. By staying current with the latest security trends and best practices you will effectively design, implement, and maintain security systems to protect against breaches, unauthorised access, and other cyberattacks.
This role involves monitoring networks, responding to security incidents, developing our security framework, managing vulnerabilities and ensuring compliance with policy, standards and regulation.

About you
As the Information Security Engineer you will be responsible for managing and enhancing both on-premises and cloud-based environments (including Azure and AWS), ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security resilience across servers, networks, and storage systems. From leading security elements of infrastructure projects like migrations and firewall upgrades to providing expert-level 2nd/3rd-line support, your technical expertise will be pivotal. You'll also play a critical role in shaping and safeguarding the organisation’s cybersecurity posture - designing and implementing robust security protocols, managing threat detection and response, and ensuring compliance with key standards such as GDPR, Cyber Essentials, and ISO 27001.

Technical Skills: Firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, endpoint security, cloud security (Azure, AWS), network security protocols, encryption, vulnerability assessment tools, scripting languages (Python, PowerShell).
