The Operations Manager (Cleaning) will be responsible for managing and supporting a team of domestic cleaning staff across multiple sites.
This role ensures that services are delivered to the highest standard, meeting and exceeding client expectations and contractual performance targets. The postholder will act as the primary liaison with the client on day-to-day operational matters, ensuring smooth service delivery and excellent working relationships.
The Role
Lead, motivate, and manage a team of cleaning/domestic staff across different shifts, ensuring high standards of performance, attendance, and conduct.
Develop and manage staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage and efficient use of resources.
Provide clear direction, guidance, and support to staff, ensuring they are trained and equipped to carry out their duties effectively.
Act as the main point of contact for the client on all operational issues, ensuring strong communication and positive relationships.
Monitor performance against agreed KPIs and take corrective actions where required.
Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, procedures, and company standards at all times.
Identify opportunities for service improvements and contribute to the continuous development of the cleaning service.
About You
Proven experience in managing teams within a cleaning, facilities, or related environment.
Strong people management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead diverse teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, clients, and stakeholders.
Experience in workforce planning, scheduling, and rota management.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
Flexible and adaptable, with a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and client satisfaction.
