Learning Support Assistant
£23,636 FTE (pro-rata)
16.5 hours per week, 3 days per week, working 38 weeks per year
Based on campus
We are looking for candidates to join our friendly and dedicated team of Learning Support Assistants who play a vital role in supporting our students. Working with students with disabilities; learning difficulties; and health conditions you will help them to achieve their learning goals and contribute to an outstanding student experience at the college.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for individuals who are flexible and committed to supporting our learners succeed through their inclusive approach. If you have the skills and experience to facilitate an outstanding experience for our learners we would be delighted to receive your application.
Providing learning support to students with declared learning difficulties, disabilities and/or health conditions using a range of learning support strategies
Contributing towards students achieving their learning goals
Actively seek opportunities to promote self-esteem, confidence and independence.
Work collaboratively with curriculum tutors to plan support for students
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Knowledge and understanding of learning difficulties, disabilities, health conditions and their impact on learning.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing an outstanding student experience.
Experienced in the use of assistive technology to facilitate learning
An experienced and confident user of IT.
Have the experience and ability to work in a supportive role with adults in an educational environment.
Educated to at least GCSE English and Maths (Grades C/4 or above) or equivalent
Be Mental Health First Aid Trained or willing to complete the training
