Job Title: Control Room OperatorSalary: £12.60 p/h
Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday 8am-4pmLooking for a role where you can make a real impact? We're offering an exciting new contract position as a Security Control Room Operator. About the RoleAs our Control Room Operator, you'll be the eyes and ears of our security team. Working from our state-of-the-art control room, you'll handle vital tasks such as access control, updating and issuing access cards, alarm monitoring, and managing CCTV footage requests and downloads. You'll also be responsible for ordering new and replacement security devices, supporting one-off requests from staff, and making sure all jobs are logged and tracked in our ticketing system. This role requires technical know-how, great communication skills, and a sharp, problem-solving mindset.
Main Responsibilities
-Oversee access to all premises, making sure only authorised people enter secure areas; respond quickly to access enquiries.
-Update, issue, and manage access cards for staff and contractors, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
-Keep a close eye on alarms throughout our facilities, reacting swiftly to incidents and coordinating responses as needed.
-Handle CCTV footage requests, downloading and reviewing material as required, always following data protection policies.
-Order new and replacement security devices, track inventory, and ensure timely distribution across the organisation.
-Respond to ad hoc requests from colleagues, remaining flexible and focused on excellent service.
-Log all tasks, incidents, and requests in the ticketing portal, tracking progress and ensuring updates are communicated.
-Assist with regular reporting on control room activities and incident resolution for management.
-Maintain strict compliance with company procedures and external regulations.
Skills and Experience
-Experience in a security control room or similar environment is a plus.
-Confident with technology, including access control systems, CCTV software, and ticketing platforms.
-Clear and effective communication, both written and spoken.
-Keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
-Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks at once.
-High standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
-Competence with common office software and a quick learner with new systems.
-Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
