You will be assisting the Housing Access and Partnerships Team Leader to establish and maintain effective partnerships with a range of accommodation providers, including social housing, private rented and supported accommodation providers, across the Council’s district, to enable the Council’s Housing team to more easily prevent or relieve homelessness, including rough sleeping, and to move clients on from temporary accommodation swiftly into suitable accommodation.
You will be a point of contact for landlords on matters such as tenancy advice, deposits, disrepair, EPC’s, Universal Credit and managing tenant issues, as well as for clients who have been accommodated in the private rented sector by the Council if they require advice and low-level support about any issue that could put their tenancy at risk. Where required, you will liaise with other organisations and make appropriate referrals.
You will be required to create and maintain a database of all relevant accommodation / providers and match clients to the available accommodation, taking into account their individual requirements. Where clients cannot be matched to available accommodation due to complex or specific needs, you will be tasked with sourcing suitable accommodation so a proactive, problem solving approach will be required.
What we need from you:
Excellent communication skills

Enjoy problem solving skills to find solutions for those facing housing problems
Competent with Microsoft Office products
Fluent in English
Ability to travel across the district for home visits, office attendance etc
