Working through Universities by Sodexo, you will be responsible for ensuring the building, our students, visitors and your co-workers' safety in your role as Security Supervisor at Sodexo at University of Greenwich, Medway Campus. What you’ll do:

  • Deliver a professional, customer-focused security service

  • Patrol, secure, and monitor the library premises, including CCTV when required

  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, supporting safe evacuations

  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors and contractors, issuing passes and managing entry

  • Complete accurate daily occurrence logs, incident reports, and handovers

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, fire, hygiene, COSHH, and site security procedures

What you bring:

Essential Requirements:

  • Valid SIA Licence

  • First Aid at Work certificate

  • Good knowledge of security techniques, alarm systems, and CCTV operations

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong attention to detail with accurate reporting and record-keeping skills

Desirable:

  • CCTV Licence

  • Fire Warden training

  • Knowledge of BS7858:2013

Security Officers (4 Positions) – University of Greenwich, Medway Campus (Drill Hall Library)

  • Location: Medway Campus, Drill Hall Library

  • Contract: Fixed Term, 7 weeks 5 days (Monday 22nd September – Friday 13th December)

  • Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 5:00pm – 12:00 midnight

  • Pay: £13.85 per hour

  • Vacancies: 4 positions available

  • MUST HOLD SIA LICENSE

**Equated pay (sometimes known as spread-over pay) is a method of paying you for your contracted hours, working weeks and holiday pay spread over 12 months instead of just receiving pay during the months that you work and none during the school closures/non-working weeks. This means that you get paid equal amounts of pay every month. Further information will be supplied at interview stage.**
