Outreach and Development Worker
Cornwall People First is a user-led self-advocacy charity for adults with learning disabilities and autism in Cornwall.
We are looking for an Outreach and Development Worker to join our small and highly motivated team. We are committed to helping people to make choices about their lives, and having a say about the things that are important to them.

The role
Working side-by-side with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism to enable them to make life choices and to participate in decision making processes.
This role is home-based initially and will involve extensive travel across the county.
This includes:
Organising and facilitating groups
Developing new groups
Supporting people on a one-to-one basis
Supporting people to participate in external meetings
Supporting people to campaign about issues that are important to them
Supporting events and project work as needed
Skills and attributes
Personal or professional knowledge of working with adults with learning disabilities and/ or autism is essential.
Car driver essential
Lone working experience
Record keeping skills
IT competency
Good time management skills
Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
Willingness to work flexibly within a small team
Terms
Hours: 20 hours per week over 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Job type: part time
1 years fixed term contract. Extension subject to funding
Probationary period: 3 months
Salary: £15 per hour
Contributory pension scheme
