Leadership To support the development of a culture that promotes leadership through coaching in accordance with Trust standards and protocols.To line manage and performance manage team leaders/managers in accordance with Trust standards and protocols.To line manage and performance manage team to assist in recruiting, motivating, training, developing and retaining appropriate staff enabling them to have the skills, expertise and discretion to function effectively in their roles.Provide demonstrable assurance that staff have the appropriate skills and competence to deliver high quality care.To ensure the effective operational management of the CWP service in providing services which are in accordance with the objectives of the CWP/ CAMHS / and achievement of key performance targets.To demonstrate clinical competence and role model effective clinical care delivery.To recruit/develop team leaders/managers who meet the organisational standards and measure performance against leadership and management competencies adopted by the Trust.To be a visible leader and be accessible to clinical staff, services users and carers. Team Management To ensure that services are developed and provided that are of the highest standard in terms of accessibility, consistent with SLAMs values.To ensure (in conjunction with the Service Manager, Heads of Professions and Lead Clinicians) that practice within the team meets relevant standards, is appropriate, timely, safe and follows agreed professional practice.To provide immediate advice and direction to all members of the Service, and others in relation to complex organisational practice situations as necessary.To work in conjunction with the Service Manager to develop effective quality assurance and performance systems that support performance against CAMHS KPIs and provide staff with feedback on their performance.To establish and maintain effective working relationships aTo ensure that staff engage in regular meetings, tTo provide intensive supervision to CWP team. Staff Management To ensure the effective use of human resources ensuring safe levels of staffing which reflect the necessary and appropriate skill mix.To undertake occasional teaching and training of CWPsTo contribute to the development of the knowledge and skills base within the CWP service by maintaining an active awareness of current developments in psychologyTo ensure the effective use of human resources ensuring safe levels of staffing which reflect the necessary and appropriate skill mix. To ensure that all staff are in receipt of regular appraisal and professional development support, liaising with Heads of profession and training departments, as appropriate.To monitor sickness absence, annual leave, training and study leave, taking any appropriate management action as required.To ensure that all staff are trained to understand and make optimum use of electronic systems that facilitate service delivery. Financial Management To have delegated responsibility for the team budget within the service, ensuring that the team works effectively within the allocated financial framework. Performance Management To provide and/or contribute to the production of reportsTo work with the Service Manager and key senior staff to develop robust clinical pathways.To take responsibility, under the direction of the Service Manager, to achieve excellent performance for all relevant performance targets. Quality To performance manage the quality of the clinical service, including patient safety, patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes and compliance with the clinical pathways and associated protocols.To be a change agent driving a cycle of continuous quality improvement utilising lean methodology and other relevant techniques as appropriate.Clinical effectiveness To provide demonstrable assurance that the resources available achieve efficiencies, reduction of waste and improvements in clinical quality.To measure outcomes to demonstrate achievements against care pathway standards.To promote the engagement of carers and families in the care pathway.Responsible for ensuring high levels of operational effectiveness, including throughput, resource utilisation and the attainment of performance targets within service lines.To contribute to service development through undertaking and participating in appropriate projects related to the CWP training programmes. Clinical Service Provision Provide assessments of children and young people referred to the CWP team based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources.Evaluate and make decisions about treatment options.Provide support for CWPs in using CYP IAPT compliant routine outcome measures.Ensure clear objectives are identified, discussed and reviewed with CWPs on a regular basis as part of their continuing professional development.To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of children and young people whose problems are managed by psychologically based standard care plans.Provide specialist expertise, advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to children and young people formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.Contribute directly and indirectly to a framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all children and young people of the service, across all settings and agencies serving children and young people with learning disabilities and mental health problems/challenging behaviour.To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual children and young people and to provide advice to other professions on risk assessment and risk management.Act as care coordinator, where appropriate, taking responsibility for initiating planning and review of CWP CAMHS care plans including children and young people, their carers, referring agents and others involved the network of care. Take responsibility for the oversight of cases within the CWP team.Communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of children and young people under their care and to monitor progress during the course of both individual and multi-disciplinary care. Self-Management To ensure that as a member of the CWP team you are fully aware of current developments, legislation and practice in the care of children and young people with mental health problems.To attend regular management/professional supervision. Through supervision and appraisal, acknowledge own limitations and discuss/identify/access training as appropriate. Be aware of and reflect on own practice as a manager/clinician.To be aware of and adhere to all Trust polices, acting as a role model to other staff.To continue to meet professional standards of practice and relevant professional legislation.To undertake other Team Management duties, as required by the Service Manager. General To travel to as appropriate and across the Trust when required.To be aware of risk relating to aggressive and challenging behaviour amongst the client group, and follow trust policies relating to its management.To respond appropriately and professionally to emotionally distressing situations and to support others involved in such situations.
