We’re looking for a Cost Manager to join our team and play a key role in helping us manage resources effectively and deliver value across our projects. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your commercial expertise to a business that’s growing and making a real difference in the UK’s infrastructure.

The Role:

As a Cost Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our commercial and operational teams, ensuring we manage our resources smartly and make the best use of our budgets. You’ll provide oversight, analysis, and guidance to keep costs under control while supporting business improvement.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved with...

  • Continuous monitoring of actual costs to ensure accuracy and control.
  • Managing workbooks for each cost component and maintaining the master list of Labour, Plant, Cars, IT assets and Traffic Management.
  • Controlling production costs and ensuring they’re correctly assigned.
  • Reviewing and responding to cost queries with detailed feedback.
  • Overseeing recharges including FPN/S74 and Lane Rental.
  • Challenging internal costs, including analysing wasteful spend and implementing actions for plant maintenance and repairs.
  • Supporting Commercial Teams during annual leave and at year-end closure.
  • Managing subcontract contracts and requisitions.
  • Carrying out cost trend analysis to provide insight and support decision-making.

We’d love to hear from you if…

You’re experienced in cost management within construction, utilities, or a similar industry. You’ll be confident working with complex cost data, able to spot trends, and skilled at providing clear and detailed insights. Strong attention to detail, commercial awareness, and excellent communication skills are key to this role.
