Overview

We are seeking a professional and reliable Security Guard to join our team at a leading national food manufacturer based in Poole, Dorset. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment.

As a Security Guard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of our premises, employees, and visitors. You will be part of a dynamic team, working on a rotating shift pattern to provide 24/7 security coverage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the premises, ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter.
• Conduct regular patrols of the site to identify and address any security risks or breaches.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents, following established protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage.
• Operate and monitor security systems, including CCTV and alarm systems.
• Provide excellent customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors, ensuring a professional and approachable demeanor at all times.
• Enforce company policies and procedures related to security and safety.
• Collaborate with management and other departments to address security concerns and implement improvements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a security role is preferred but not essential.
• A valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) license is preferred but not essential.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations.
• Basic computer literacy for operating security systems and maintaining records.
• A proactive and professional attitude with a commitment to upholding high standards of security and safety.

Day-to-Day

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting routine patrols of the premises to ensure all areas are secure.
• Monitoring CCTV footage and responding to any suspicious activity.
• Checking identification and logging visitors and contractors entering the site.
• Assisting with the enforcement of health and safety regulations.
• Reporting any incidents or irregularities to the appropriate personnel.
• Providing a visible security presence to deter unauthorised access or activities.
