Early Years SEN / General Teaching Assistant - Middleton - September Start

Start Date: September 2025
⏰ Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Setting: One-Form Entry Primary School - EYFS
Salary: £85-£100 per day (depending on experience)
Are you a caring, adaptable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a genuine passion for supporting children in their early years? Do you have experience working with children with additional needs, alongside providing general classroom support?
A welcoming one-form entry primary school in Middleton is seeking a dedicated Early Years SEN / General Teaching Assistant to join their team in September. This role will involve both classroom-wide support and targeted 1:1 and small group SEN work, supporting children with needs such as Autism, communication delays and sensory differences.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting learning across the EYFS classroom, including whole-class and small-group activities
Providing additional help to children with SEN, ensuring they can access and enjoy their learning
Encouraging language, communication and play-based development through structured activities
Supporting emotional regulation, routines, and transitions throughout the day
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and parents to ensure consistent support
What We're Looking For:
Experience in Early Years education and/or supporting children with SEND
A calm, patient and nurturing approach, with the ability to adapt to different needs
Confident supporting communication, play and early learning
A team player who can also work independently when needed
Willingness to contribute to the caring and inclusive ethos of the school
