If the answer to the above questions is YES then the Children’s’ Unit and Paediatric Assessment Unit at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon is the place for you!

We are a 22 bed inpatient ward and an adjacent paediatric assessment unit in which we treat children aged from new-born to 18 years old with a broad range of paediatric conditions including surgery, oncology, orthopaedics and ENT. The unit is supported by a friendly, dedicated and highly skilled medical team and, as a nurse associate , you will also benefit from the support of 14 Band 6 Sisters and an excellent team of staff nurses.

This is also an exciting time for GWH as we are nearing the completion of our brand new Integrated Front Door Project which encompasses a bespoke Children's Emergency Unit which will provide better pathways for patients and new opportunities for staff.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high quality care to a defined patient group either within the acute hospital or community based setting under the distant guidance of a registered practitioner. The post holder will undertake the assessment, planning, organisation, delivery and evaluation of evidence based individualised patient care within the boundaries of their role. The post holder will undertake a range of delegated tasks and delegated authority and will report to a registered practitioner.
