As a Lead Quality Standards and Assurance (QSA) assurer, you will be responsible for co-ordinating the build, implementation and ongoing delivery of a consistent “3 lines of defence” assurance model across Home Office Government Digital and Data Profession.

This means providing independent and constructive assurance across the broad and multifaceted scope of functions. QSA is an emerging capability within Home Office Government Digital and Data Profession, with a mission to improve quality and reduce risk for our users by focussing effort on the right standards, with controls, measures, and effective assurance practices.

Your goal is to build a best-in-class assurance approach, and you will be playing a vital role in ultimately supporting the successful delivery of critical Home Office services to the public.

What you’ll do

Your main day to day responsibilities will be:

  • Leading independent assurance and review activities across Home Office Government Digital and Data Profession, including thoroughly evaluating assurance controls through specific review projects.
  • Initiating, planning, and leading internal review activities to demonstrate clear 2nd line assurance.
  • Leading and setting the direction to form effective internal assurance teams.
  • Identifying and implementing recommendations (including further 2nd line assurance activities) resulting from the reviews.
  • Identifying and addressing root causes to problems early when it’s easier and more cost-effective to correct.
  • Building a culture of quality management around ‘what’ is built and ‘how’ things are built and maintained, involving all members of Home Office Government Digital and Data Profession.
  • Monitoring dashboards, data, and process outcomes and analysing data for triggered interventions to resolve the level of assurance required.
  • Creating intelligent assurance reports for senior management and stakeholders to aid risk management and data-led decision making.

Joining the Governance, Risk, and Assurance profession, and being the principal for the DDaT QSA function, means becoming part of a dynamic and innovative team at the heart of government control for digital transformation. QSA lead on the development and implementation of cutting-edge governance and risk management strategies, ensuring our digital landscape is robust, secure, and resilient. You will collaborate and innovate, working alongside some of the brightest minds in technology.
