The elective access transformation manager will lead and manage programs focused on improving and streamlining patient access to elective healthcare services. This role involves strategic planning, project management, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring the successful delivery of initiatives aimed at optimizing patient pathways, reducing waiting times, and enhancing overall access to care.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual who will work as an integral part of the Patient Access team. The Patient Access team is responsible for booking outpatient appointments, day case and inpatient activity, medical records, clinic preparation, overseas visitors, admissions, reception and support the Trust with patient validation.

Applicants must have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work under non-direct supervision, prioritising your own workload. It is necessary to have a flexible approach within this role and be able to respond appropriately to the demands of an ever-changing workload.

You will need excellent interpersonal skills, as you will be liaising with a range of teams including Operational, Clinical and Nursing across the Trust. You will also be required to communicate with all levels of staff both face to face and over the telephone.

The post holder will be expected to take ownership of projects within the department, supporting the Patient Access Centre Manager, as necessary.

Key responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the role include developing and implementing strategic plans for elective access transformation, aligning with organizational goals and national priorities. Overseeing the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of individual projects within the program. Engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including clinicians, managers, patients, and other relevant organizations, to ensure buy-in and collaboration. Managing the change process, facilitating adoption of new processes and technologies, and minimizing disruption to services. Monitoring program progress, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting on performance against targets. Identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues that may impact program delivery. Ensuring appropriate resources (funding, personnel, technology) are available and allocated effectively. Ensuring that the program delivers intended benefits and value to the organization and patients.
