Thank you for taking the time to read about this exciting opportunity with Coleman Training Development! They’re looking for a new Supported Internship Tutor to join their close knit team, helping them in supporting young SEND learners in building the skills and the confidence they need to enter paid employment.
Are you a recent NQT and you’ve decided that mainstream education isn’t for you?
Have you recently left education but are finding that you’re missing it?
Or, are you a current teacher or tutor and you’re looking for something a little bit different?
If you’re reading the above and thinking it sounds like you, then Coleman Training Development’s Supported Internship Tutor position might be perfect for you.
So who are Coleman Training Development?
Coleman Development Training was set up with the aim to empower individuals to get into employment. They bridge the gap between education and employment, offering year long course to 16-25 year olds with SEND and giving them the skills and support to get into paid positions.
CTD has grown over the past couple of years, with various other councils modelling the programme to help more young people across the UK. CTD want to help as many people as they possibly can, and their Supported Internship Tutor position will help them in achieving this.
CTD have fostered a caring culture of inclusivity, openness and kindness, the team support each other, and there’s even a wellbeing hour every 1 Thursday and 3 Thursday of the month this has included going out for a team coffee, drinks in a hotel bar, or even mediation / art sessions.
So what might you get up to in this role?
This is a tutor role so most of your week will be spent planning and delivering sessions, conducting learner reviews, meeting with parents/careers, and supporting the learners in their progress towards independent, paid employment.
There will be other aspects of the role to get stuck in with, including:
Supervising and supporting the Learning Support Assistants
Preparing resources for the sessions
Participating in open days, reverse job fairs and other events
Getting involved with job coaching
You might be a good fit if...
You’re empathetic, calm and amazing under pressure
You want your job to be something that is really making a difference, and where you can see that difference occurring day to day
You’re eager to work for a small but growing organisation, that cares about their team and the work that they do
You understand the importance of wellbeing & safety, and always have safeguarding at the top of your mind?
And, you’re confident in a classroom and can lead a group of people into achieving their goals
If you’re reading this thinking, is this the job for me? Do I want to be part of Coleman Training Development’s future? Please do apply. We would rather hear from you and find out it’s not the right fit, than you not apply and then you always wonder ... what if?!
Before you apply, feel free to check out CTD’s website to learn more about them and what they do: https://www.colemantrainingdevelopment.com/
Oliver King Consulting is working in partnership with Coleman Training Development in the initial stages of the recruitment for this role. Please note that we may advertise this role under different job titles to reach a wider audience - but please only apply once!
