Summary

This role will be responsible for:

manage a mixed civilian-military team of DCI staff with responsibility for Defence industry and capability programmes.
support and develop their team members whilst delivering impactful intelligence analysis and operations, become DCI’s subject matter expert for Defence industry and capabilities, and provide effective counter-intelligence advice and support to Defence industry.
play a leading role in identifying and contesting intelligence threats to Defence industry and capability programmes.
support the continuous improvement and professional development of the team, including identifying advanced tooling opportunities, continuously developing the methodology of the team, driving governance and professionalisation, and ensuring ethical and legal compliance.
oversee the production of high-quality intelligence assessments. As well as conducting some of their own research and analysis.
be responsible for the production and quality assurance of timely and high-quality intelligence analysis by their team. This will also require providing verbal and written briefings to senior military and HMG staff as required.
plan and coordinate intelligence operations to identify hostile intelligence threats to UK Defence industry and capability programmes. This includes proactive operational delivery and responding to incidents after they occur.
maintain relationships across Defence, Whitehall and other allies in order to support this work.
form part of the DCI management group and report to the Task Force Head. They will also regularly represent DCI and present its work at informal briefings, formal presentations and planning meetings, and deputise for the DCI SLT as necessary.



This role requires the post holder to spend a significant proportion (minimum of 80%) of their working week in the office and candidates must understand that this will remain the requirement. There will also be a requirement to travel between RAF Wyton and MOD Main Building on a regular basis.
