***M&E background necessary
We are looking for a motivated Junior Estimator with a background in mechanical & electrical (M&E) services to support the pre-construction and commercial teams on major high-rise projects in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for some looking to develop their career in estimating while gaining exposure to large-scale complex developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for M&E elements of construction projects.
- Support senior estimators in the preparation of tender documentation and bid submissions.
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements to support pricing activities.
- Work with supply chain partners to obtain quotations and evaluate options.
- Support value engineering exercises and help identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, quotations, and tender submissions.
- Contribute to bid presentations and client proposals as required.
Requirements
- 2-4 years experience in estimating within M&E.
- Understanding of building services, mechanical and electrical systems.
- strong numerical, analytically, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of the Estimating software that will be used.
- excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
- Enthusiasm to learn, develop, and progress within a commercial team
