Your new company
Your new company are an independent Environmental consultancy, specialising in Flood Risk, Ground Investigation, Land Remediation and Project Management. Over 25 years, they have become experts in unlocking land, de-risking sites and accelerating development across the residential, commercial, industrial, energy, solar farm sectors (and many more).
This multi-award-winning organisation have grown to over 50 staff in recent years, and now have 5 offices across the UK. You have the option of joining the business in either Manchester city centre or North Manchester.
Your new role
As a Senior Flood Risk consultant, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of all projects, as well as contributing to the development and long-term growth of the team. Your day-to-day responsibilities are as followed:
- Management and delivery of Flood Risk Assessments and Conceptual Surface Water Drainage Strategies for planning applications
- Production of quotes and Project Management including budgeting and use of financial system
- Client and regulatory liaison
- Liaison with sub-consultants
- Business development which mostly includes retention of existing clients, however also the opportunity to develop your own client list through networking events etc.
- Mentoring and training of junior staff
- Supporting senior staff to develop and grow the flood risk team
What you'll need to succeed
- In order to succeed, you will need to have a relevant HNC or BSc in Geography, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, or other relevant field
- You should also have at least 4 years of UK-based consultancy work completing FRA's and drainage strategies
- Experience with design packages including AutoCAD, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage/Causeway, GIS software
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to make strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment
- An interest in developing your soft and technical skills via CPD
- A collaborative approach that you are the team are all working towards the same goal
