JOB TITLE: Adult Social Care Legal Executive
REF: Newcastle 5274497
Pay rate: £23.17 per hour PAYE
Contract Type: Temporary, Anticipated 2 months
Working Arrangement: TBC

The role:

As part of an Adult Services legal team we are seeking a Legal Executive – Adult Services Law to provide specialist legal advice, case management, and representation across a range of matters.

Key Responsibilities:

Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Court of Protection proceedings
Care Act 2014 responsibilities and safeguarding matters
Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS)
Judicial review, commissioning, and contractual issues relating to adult social care
Advising social workers and senior officers on day-to-day casework



What the client is looking for:

Admitted solicitor/barrister or CILEx Qualification
Recent and relevant experience in adult services law
Recent advocacy experience
Ability to communicate effectively (in writing and orally) with a diverse range of people
Ability to advise officers and councillors
Ability to draft relevant legal documents – applications, position statements, draft orders etc
Recent experience in a local authority legal department
Some experience in Court of Protection and/or Judicial Review proceedings
Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Mental Health Act 1983.
