Pay rate:£15.67 per hour
37.5 hours per week
Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
PAYROLL OFFICER KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Collate input and maintain all relevant information relating to the payroll on a weekly basis (Starters, leavers, holidays, sickness etc)
* Produce clocking and attendance reports liaising with department managers for any queries
* Process the payroll ensuring all deadlines and cut offs are met
* Provide first line support for any queries from employees/managers.
* Support Payroll supervisor with payroll process
* Checking/recording Health insurance details
* Check PAYE
* New starters / leavers and P45
* Produce Overtime reports
* Other adhoc duties as required
PAYROLL OFFICER PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To learn how to process the weekly and monthly payroll and all associated duties
PLANNING HORIZON
* Monthly period for salaried payroll
* Weekly payroll cover
COMPLEXITY
(i.e. what makes the role complicated)
* Worked hours information from a number of sources
* Accuracy required for the entry of the hours worked/overtime, allowances, deductions as these affect the amount people are paid
* Wages / Salaries / Expenses are a direct cash outflow
Strict guidelines around minimum hourly paid, NI, tax and pensions
FREEDOM TO MAKE DECISIONS
* Collate the number of hours to be paid in accordance with a persons contracted hours, queries with departmental managers
* Holiday and Sickness to be taken from HR system unless indicated from HR.
* Starters /Leavers and amendments to pay rate to be directed through HR team and relevant paperwork
Changes to Name, address, bank details and department to be notified by HR
PAYROLL OFFICER KEY EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
* 1-2yr Payroll experience
* Used to manual processing
* Intermediate knowledge of excel
* Ability to process full payroll from timesheet entry to pension / RTI
PAYROLL OFFICER DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
* Full process of a weekly payroll
* PBS experience
* Payroll qualification
*
PAYROLL OFFICER PERSON SPECIFICATION
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Worked in a small team
* Attention to detail
* Good communication with a variety of management levels
* Someone who is not afraid to ask if they are uncertain
* Proactive with looking at efficiency improvement
* Ability to work under time pressure
* Able to work on own during holidays and illness
* Processing full payroll end to end
