What skills and experience we're looking for
Knowledge and Skills
Expertise in acting styles, character development, Physical theatre,voice work and improvisation
Knowledge of influential practitioners like Stanislavski, Brecht,Artaud among others and their methodologies
Understanding classical, Contempory, devised theatre and scriptbased performances
A well-developed understanding of the particular needs of the 16-19
age group both in full-time education and employment and of theprofessional challenges by inner city students many of whom comefrom deprived backgrounds
An understanding of and commitment to safeguarding young peopleand vulnerable adults.
Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personalboundaries with children and young people/vulnerable adults
Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours attitudes to use of authority and maintaining discipline
Ability to teach on a range of courses in the subject area, specificallyDrama and Musical Theatre
Ability to provide learning and tutorial support for students
Excellent planning, organisation, IT and administrative skills, theability to see projects through to a successful conclusion, and a general high level of efficiency.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative, ability topromote and recruit for courses
Education and Qualifications
Degree or equivalent within relevant area of specialism –Performing Arts - Drama
Experience
A background in professional performance or directing
Evidence of the ability to deliver consistently good or betterteaching, learning and assessment
Experience of teaching with the 16-19 age group
A proven track record or developing teams to plan and deliver an excellent learning experience.
Experience of the pastoral care of students, monitoring their attendance
