About the Church
We are a Spirit-filled Pentecostal church rooted in biblical teaching, passionate worship, and community outreach. Our mission is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, disciple believers, and serve the local community with love and compassion. We are seeking a committed Minister of Religion to lead and grow our congregation in faith and purpose.
️ Role Purpose
The Minister of Religion will be responsible for the spiritual leadership of the church, including preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and outreach. This role is a genuine occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010 for a practicing Christian.
✝️ Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead weekly worship services, including Sunday services and midweek gatherings
• Preach and teach Pentecostal doctrine with theological soundness and spiritual insight
• Officiate religious ceremonies such as baptisms, weddings, and funerals
• Provide pastoral care, counselling, and spiritual guidance to members
• Organize and lead evangelistic and community outreach programs
• Mentor and develop church leaders, volunteers, and youth ministries
• Collaborate with the church board and ministry teams on strategic planning
• Uphold and promote the church’s values, vision, and mission
Person Specification
Essential:
• A committed Christian with a clear calling to ministry
• Experience in Pentecostal ministry or similar church leadership
• Sound knowledge of the Bible and Pentecostal theology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required
• Eligible to work in the UK and willing to undergo a DBS check
• The post holder must have experience of working with African and Afro-Caribbean communities
• An ability to sacrifice high levels of personal commitment, a servant heart, and the ability to lead and mentor people, especially young people.
• Is ordained, has previous experience of working in a similar capacity, and is conversant with the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s VISION
• Bible exposition and exegetical skills, and a recognizable gift of teaching ministry are mandatory
Desirable:
• Formal theological training or ministerial accreditation
• Experience in youth ministry, worship leadership, or community outreach
• Familiarity with safeguarding policies and procedures
• Counselling skills, to guide those seeking conversion to the Christian faith.
• Ability to work with people from all socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.
• Must possess minimum English language skills at a minimum level B2
