Job overview

An opportunity has arisen to join our team of housekeepers at Littlemore Mental Health Centre providing a safe clean environment for patients and staff.

This is a part-time role (25 hours per week) based at our Phoenix Ward, an acute admissions ward for adult males aged 18-65.  You'll be working on a 2 week rolling rota whereby you would be expected to work a variety of early and late shifts covering a service from 7am-7pm to include alternative weekend working.

You'll be carrying out general cleaning on the outpatients and ward areas including mopping the floors, cleaning toilets and around the patient rooms, as well as serving food to patients at breakfast, lunch and dinner times.

We are looking for friendly, organised, hard-working candidates who will be reliable team players with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Main duties of the job

  • To carry out daily cleaning routines in line with national cleaning standards.
  • To carry out cleaning tasks as per schedule.
  • To handle and removal of waste in line with segregation processes and procedures
  • To regenerate cook/frozen meals recording the temperatures of food at stages defined as appropriate within the relevant wards. To ensure food is ready to be served at the correct times for service and all waste food recorded
  • To ensure kitchen equipment, regeneration equipment and all surfaces are always clean.
  • To ensure the dining room is cleaned after each meal.
  • To wash-up and check all cutlery and crockery and kitchen utensils after meals, any discrepancies to then be highlighted to the clinical team. 
  • Ensure all food items are correctly stored and there are adequate supplies.
  • To follow hygiene regulations.
  • To follow Health & Safety regulations.
