Who Is Our Client?

Our client is a fast-growing waste management company based in Bristol. With a fleet of over 50 vehicles, they provide reliable waste services throughout the Southwest. They pride themselves on their reputation for quality, trust, reliability, and excellence.

Our client aims to divert as much of Bristol's waste from landfills as possible while delivering a cost-effective service focused on their client's needs.

They are looking for an experienced Environmental Compliance Manager to step into this newly created role and take the lead in ensuring environmental compliance across all areas of their operations. This is a unique opportunity to shape the role from the ground up while helping to drive progress toward their ambitious growth goals.

To succeed in this role, you will:

- Be a proactive and knowledgeable environmental professional.

- Committed to ensuring their operations not only meet but exceed all environmental legislation, permits, and regulatory obligations.

- Will build trusted relationships with stakeholders, including the Environment Agency, local authorities, and community representatives.

- Act as a credible and informed ambassador for their environmental performance.

- You will bring strategic insight into waste management, regulatory compliance, and environmental reporting and drive continuous improvement across the business.

- From delivering training and leading audits to championing proactive initiatives, you will inspire a culture where environmental responsibility is integrated into everything they do.

Your success will be measured by enhanced environmental performance, reduced risk, and evident progress towards their sustainability goals.

What experience and skills you will need:

- WAMITAB certification.

- In-depth understanding of environmental legislation (e.g. Environmental Permitting Regulations, Waste Framework Directive, ISO 14001).

- Familiarity with Environment Agency requirements and permitting processes.

- Ability to interpret and apply evolving UK and EU environmental laws.

- The ability to assess environmental data and identify trends or risks.

- Passion for promoting environmental awareness and training across teams.

- Experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives in environmental performance.
