Our Organisation
This role is advertised by NCC Professional Services. Part of Nelson and Colne College Group, NCC Professional Services provides expert business support services to the wider College Group.
Accrington and Rossendale College has a proud history of delivering high quality vocational courses and technical training, apprenticeships and higher education provision to the communities that we serve. We excel in providing people with a platform to progress into fantastic employment opportunities with rewarding career prospects.
The Exciting Role:
An Exciting Opportunity to Inspire the Next Generation of Practitioners.
We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Training and Development Coach to join our successful and supportive Education and Childcare Team. This is your chance to make a real difference—guiding apprentices across Early Years and Teaching Assistant standards (up to Level 3, with Level 5 delivery desirable) as they build rewarding careers that shape the lives of children and young people.
This exciting role would suit:
- A skilled practitioner from Early Years or education settings ready to take the next step into teaching and assessing
- Or an experienced Trainer Assessor/Coach seeking a new challenge within an Ofsted Outstanding organisation that puts learners and staff at the heart of what we do
You’ll play a key part in delivering engaging, high-quality training and assessments—supporting apprentices to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours they need to excel in their roles and achieve high grades at End Point Assessment.
You’ll work closely with employers across Lancashire, supporting their business needs and helping shape a curriculum that reflects the latest developments in the sector. In return, you’ll be part of a welcoming and dynamic team, with access to continuous professional development and real opportunities to grow your career.
What You Will Be Doing:
Support, coach and assess apprentices through tailored training, workplace visits, and individual feedback.
Deliver engaging sessions and embed English, maths and personal development into the apprenticeship journey.
Work in partnership with our Functional Skills and curriculum teams.
Build strong relationships with employers to enhance apprentice progress and curriculum relevance.
Ensure timely achievement and preparation for End Point Assessment.
What We Are Looking For:
A qualified Assessor (A1, CAVA, or equivalent), with experience delivering high-quality apprenticeships in Early Years and/or Teaching Assistant standards (Level 2–3 essential; Level 5 desirable).
– OR –
An experienced Early Years or education support professional with strong sector knowledge and a passion for developing others. We are happy to support the right candidate to gain their assessing qualifications.
Relevant occupational qualifications and industry experience in Early Years or education support roles.
A sound understanding of apprenticeship standards, End Point Assessment processes, and how to support learners to achieve distinction-level outcomes.
A strong grasp of quality and compliance requirements, including Ofsted expectations, safeguarding, and ESFA funding rules.
Confidence using digital platforms such as OneFile, e-portfolios, and learner management systems to plan, track and enhance learner progress.
The ability to inspire and support apprentices of all ages, embedding English, maths, and personal development into the learning journey.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a flexible, collaborative approach to working with employers, colleagues and learners.
A genuine passion for apprenticeships and a commitment to helping every learner reach their full potential.
What We Offer in Return:
- Access to a workplace pension scheme – with employer contributions of 5%
- Generous annual leave allowance including a two-week closure over the Christmas period
- Enhanced occupational sick pay scheme and access to family friendly policies and benefits
- A range of health and wellbeing benefits and support
- Staff recognition scheme, including long service awards
- Free on-site parking on all College sites
