Summary
Are you ready to lead the way in improving patient access and elective care performance? We’re looking for a proactive and experienced manager to join our Corporate team at NNUH. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee the Trust-wide Patient Tracking Lists (PTLs), ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant management of Referral to Treatment (RTT), and diagnostics. You’ll work closely with divisional teams, providing expert operational support, driving data quality, and ensuring national standards are met. Your leadership will be key in coordinating harm reviews, managing performance risks, and supporting recovery plans.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking team that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. At NNUH, we live our PRIDE values—People-focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Excellence—in everything we do. We offer a supportive environment, professional development opportunities, and the chance to make a real impact on patient care. If you’re passionate about performance, data, and service improvement, and thrive in a fast-paced NHS setting, we’d love to hear from you.
The Head of Access and Performance Management plays a pivotal role in leading the Trust-wide oversight of elective Patient Tracking Lists (PTLs). The postholder is responsible for validating patient pathways, identifying breaches and risks, and coordinating corrective actions with clinical and operational teams. They provide expert guidance on access rules, support equitable patient scheduling, and contribute to the delivery of national performance standards through robust data management and timely interventions. This includes producing detailed performance reports, dashboards, and briefings for senior stakeholders, facilitating weekly PTL meetings, and leading harm review processes in line with national guidance and Trust protocols.
Beyond operational oversight, the role involves maintaining the elective access risk register, supporting divisional recovery plans, and collaborating with BI, Information Services, and Data Quality teams to ensure the integrity of PTL data and reporting structures. The postholder will also deliver training on access policies and systems, contribute to service improvement initiatives such as capacity modelling and pathway redesign, and deputise for the Head of Elective Access and Performance Management when required.
This role demands a high level of analytical skill, leadership, and strategic thinking, with the ability to manage complex information, influence change, and drive continuous improvement across elective care services.
