Clinical 1. Understanding and delivery of national immunisation programmes for both adults and children 2. Understanding and delivery of national screening programmes eg cervical screening, 3. Assessment, planning and support for patients to self-manage long term conditions such as Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Hyertension, Chronic Kidney Disease, Heart Failure and Cardivasular Disease. 4. Provide NHS agreed travel advice and vaccinate appropriately 5. Assess and care for patients presenting with uncomplicated wounds, including removal of sutures and clips 6. Genearal Practice Nursing skills eg urinalysis, peak flow, phlebotomy, NHS Health Checks, ECGs, Spirometry 7. Support and advise patients requesting information relating to reproductive and sexual health Communication 1. Communicate effectively within the MDT teams, patients and carers both verbally and written 2. Consultation skills to support patients to make evidence based decisions and joint care 3. Anticipate barriers to communication and take action to improve communication 4. Act as an advocate when representing the patients and colleagues viewpoints to others. Administration 1. An understanding and curiosity of the wider primary care system Primary Care Networks, Integrated Care Boardss, Integrated Care Systems and neighbourhoods; 2. Participate in practice audit and research projects as required 3. Ability to contribute to future practice policies and growth 4. Working knowledge of clinical software 5. Basic knowledge of computer hardware General To maintain own annual registration with the NMC and professional indemnity and adhere to The Code: Professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses, midwives and nursing associates Ensure all statutory regulations (e.g. Health & Safety, COSHH, Infection control.) are implemented and adhered to To promote a professional approach at all times by attire and attitude to patients and staff both in and out of the Practice To maintain own continuous professional development (CPD) and ensure CPD is kept up-to-date through annual appraisal in line with the requirements of the Practice and The Code Emergency Equipment maintenance and audit 6. Ability to prioritise and balance routine administrative tasks against important management issues of the surgery 7. Participate in staff and Practice meetings and in-house clinical training sessions. Attend ALGs provided by the Open Doors Tutors. 8. Work within limitations, being aware of own boundaries 9. Use available resources effectively 10. Work in a cost effective manner to eliminate waste and to help the organisation to run economically
