Passionate farm vet looking to expand your role? Join Us in Cheshire!
Develop. Coach. Inspire.
At Willows Farm Vets, we’re not just another busy, progressive farm-only practice — we’re the team trusted to help shape the next generation of farm vets. We work closely with Harper-Keele Vet School on their rotations, which offers a great opportunity to get involved in clinical coaching to those with a buzz for education.
One of our vets is leaving us for a career change after 5 brilliant years and so we are looking for a vet with experience to join our team.
About Us
We’re a 10-vet, 5 TB Tester, farm-only team based in Rudheath, Cheshire, with 150+ years of collective veterinary knowledge (and plenty of banter). We’ve got Certificate holders, Vet Techs, admin heroes, and the backing of the wider VetPartners network — the UK’s largest employer of farm vets.
The Role
• Diverse work: 700+ active clients ranging from large commercial dairies to dedicated smallholders.
• Opportunity to become a Clinical coach for final-year vet students, with structured teaching time alongside your normal caseload if you’re keen.
• A genuine say in how you work — and a team that values your ideas.
• If teaching isn’t your thing, there’s still plenty of opportunities for those happiest on the road, helping farmers and treating sick animals.
• 1:6 rota with TOIL.
What We’re Looking For
• An experienced, confident farm vet who loves what they do.
• A natural communicator who can bring out the best in others.
• Someone who thrives in a team and respects every role in the practice.
What We Offer
• The unique opportunity to combine farm practice with structured teaching & mentoring.
• An enthusiastic and experienced team with a great track record for developing outstanding farm vets and valuing our staff.
• Excellent salary, work-use pickup, and a generous CPD budget — certificates and diplomas actively supported.
• All the kit you’d expect: Easi-scan, InterHerd+, Bull Semen Testing, and more.
• A workplace officially rated ‘World Class to Work For’ 4 years running.
• Enhanced sick & parental leave, Healthshield wellbeing programme, buy/sell holiday scheme.
• A genuinely fun, supportive, social atmosphere — we host regular work events, often alongside our clients to create a team which is part of the wider farming community.
If you’re excited about shaping the future of farm vet medicine while enjoying a varied, rewarding caseload, we’d love to hear from you.
For an informal chat, call Isobel Johnston (07989 659993) or Phil Jones (07471 039002).
To apply, send your CV and covering letter to projects@willowsvetgroup.co.uk. Applications will close when a suitable candidate is found.
