Edinburgh Law School is seeking an interim Teaching Services Manager to support the Student and Academic Services Team for a period of 12 months. Reporting to the Head of Student and Academic Services, the post-holder will be responsible for teaching operations and academic administration across a range of taught programmes and courses generating around 12k student enrolments each year.

This post combines the need for excellent problem solving and prioritisation skills, a customer-focused approach and the ability to promote successful working relationships with students, colleagues and stakeholders. The role works in close partnership with the Student Support Manager to deliver a holistic student and academic support service from enrolment to award.

This post is fixed-term (for 1 year) and full-time (35 hours per week).

We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working, though candidates should be aware that the role typically requires at least 4 days working on site in Old College in order to provide practical support and visible leadership to the team.



The salary for this post is at Grade UE07: £41,064 to £48,822 per annum.

Your skills and attributes for success:

You have a degree or equivalent training plus relevant work experience, or a track record of administrative experience at a senior level in an HE environment.
You will have proven experience of both leading and managing teams and working collaboratively across boundaries in to deliver services to users or customers.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly.
You will be used to resolving complex problems and using your influencing skills to find a resolution.
You will have excellent administration skills.
