The Communications Directorate is a multi-disciplinary team delivering the Home Office’s communications strategy. We are insight-led and results-driven, and our marketing campaigns support strategic objectives using a wide range of channels. We seek to provide high quality media, rebuttal and social media services. Our Internal Communications team supports employee engagement and business transformation.
Do you have a passion for visual storytelling? Are you at your best in fast-paced, high-impact environments, capturing real moments with real people? If you're looking for a role where your photography and videography will be seen by millions of people and help shape important conversations, this could just be the perfect opportunity for you.
This is a rare chance to join the Home Office social media team, a highly creative unit that produces powerful and engaging content, bringing some of the most significant stories to life - externally and internally. In this role, you’ll also work closely with the Permanent Secretary and senior officials to create compelling internal communications content that connects staff across the department.
The social media team is part of the Home Office’s Communication team and is at the forefront of communicating how the department’s work impacts the lives of people throughout the United Kingdom. You will be reporting to a Senior Content Creator and working alongside other digital creatives and strategists.
This role offers a multi-talented photographer-videographer an exciting new challenge in a fast-paced environment, capturing content with the likes of the police, Immigration Enforcement, Border Force as well as some of the UK’s biggest influencers, content creators and digital media.
Your content will be seen by millions on Home Office social media channels, with a combined following of over 1.8 million, as well as by millions through partnerships with external influencers and media.
You'll be on the frontlines of history, documenting major events, frontline operational activity, and capturing powerful moments that showcase the people and the stories behind the Home Office’s work. One day you might be filming the Home Secretary meeting world leaders, the next, capturing Border Force teams in action or photographing a senior leadership event led by the Permanent Secretary.
This post is being offered on a Fixed Term Appointment (FTA) basis in order to help with a temporary increase in work.
