Job Summary
Prospero Teaching is recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking school seeking a dedicated School Engagement Officer to join their Student Services team. This role is vital in supporting student attendance, safeguarding, and engagement, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and thrive in their education.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategies to improve student attendance and punctuality.
Conduct home visits and liaise with families to address attendance concerns.
Deliver targeted interventions for students with persistent absence.
Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed.
Collaborate with teaching and pastoral teams to support student wellbeing.
Maintain accurate records, case notes, and statutory returns.
Promote inclusion, equality, and diversity across the school community.
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience working with children and families in an educational or support setting.
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
Confident in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting.
