The postholder will play a critical role in leading and transformingGovernanceandRiskproceduressothatwecanmakewell-informeddecisionsbased onverifiableevidence.

Theywillactas subject advisortotheTruston all aspects of Corporate Governance, regulation and legislation, to drive continuous improvement and compliance and support the Trust to operate at the highest standards in relation to openness, transparency and commitment to a collaborative and compassionate culture.

· Ensure good information flows to the Board of Directors and its committees and between senior management, non-executive directors.

· Supporting and ensuring governance arrangements are formally reviewed and up to date.

· Supporting and ensuring arrangements are in place for the regular evaluation of the effectiveness and performance of the Board of Directors incorporating a range of methods including self-assessment and independent reviews.

· Supporting updates and reviews on statutory documents.

· Ensuring that the Trust fully complies with best practice around the Fit and Proper Persons test for all Directors.

· Support production of annual reports and AGM

· Supporting review on governance assurance groups.

· Reviewing processes for induction and professional development of the Directors.

· Review stems in place for escalation and oversight from point of care to the Board to ensure effective line of sight to the Board of Directors.

· Supporting, updating and coordination of governance training delivery.

· Ensuring all governance related policies and strategies are up to date. Monitor effectiveness of such policies, taking steps to address any areas of non-compliance/concerns
