Salford Children’s Speech & Language Therapy Service is looking to recruit a creative and flexible Speech and Language Therapist to work as part of our schools team.
You will be part of a friendly, experienced department who work closely with families and partner agencies to support children and young people’s speech, language and communication needs. We have a well-established service providing a ‘balanced system’ across Salford delivering universal, targeted and specialist levels of support.
This role will involve delivery of clinical interventions in primary, high schools and clinic and supporting and delivering our training offer to schools, parents/carers, and colleagues. The post holder will receive supervision, support and mentoring from a range of experienced SLTs across the service.
Main duties:
• To deliver universal, targeted and specialist clinical work as part of the Speech and Language Therapy Schools Team.
• To assess and diagnose conditions and to plan and implement specialist Speech and Language Therapy programmes of care and treatment and discharge appropriately, using evidence-based practice.
• To work collaboratively with parents, carers and educators and to support children with a range of communication needs.
• To demonstrate clinical effectiveness through the use of evidence-based practice and outcome measures.
• Due to the nature of the post you will need to be able to travel to different sites as required by the service.
