Job title: Children’s Senior Support Worker

Pay: From £26,931.84 - £28,431.84 depending on experience. Plus an average of £2,080 per year in sleeps

Hours: Full time permanent. Based on 39 hours per week

Location: Ilkeston

Introduction:

P4 Recruitment are partnering with a client in Ilkeston to find a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker who is dedicated to providing exceptional, person-centred care for young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and associated learning difficulties. Hours and shift patterns

A combination of early shifts, late shifts and full days with occasional sleep-in duties. All positions include working some weekends and bank holidays.

Early 07:30-15:00

Late 14:30- 22.00 or sleep

Full 07:30- 22:00 or sleep

Daily responsibilities and shift patterns

·Assist in the development of new techniques and approaches to the childcare provision

·To promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each young person

·Establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with the young people that will promote their sense of security

·Provide firm, consistent, and fair boundaries in respect of their behaviour and employ appropriate and agreed sanctions

·Assist Young People in the development and sustaining of positive social networks with adults and other peer groups

·To assist and support Young People through the process of leaving care

·Encourage Young People to develop their full educational and vocational attainment

·To always work within the principles of the therapeutic parenting model

Essential requirements

·level 3 diploma in children’s residential care or equivalent.

·Currently working in children services with 2 years’ experience or already in a senior position.

·Holding a valid driving licence is essential/ company carpool available.

Desirable requirements

·Enhanced DBS on the update service

·Understanding of Autism/Physical/Emotional/Social Needs of Young People
