In Falkirk we are proud and passionate about the work we do. We are proud to have a workforce with values that promote human rights, social justice and professional integrity. We recognise the importance of diversity within our organisation that reflects the communities we serve. We welcome practitioners to work in a dynamic environment with a forward-thinking workforce, who are determined to make a positive difference for people accessing services. Trauma informed and a strengths based social work approach sits at the heart of our practice. We are committed to continuing to develop a culture where all our workforce feels valued, included and able to be their best at work. This supports our mission to be recognised as a learning organisation promoting openness and creativity across the workforce.
This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced Social Worker to join Falkirk Learning Disability Team in the role of Advanced Practitioner. You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary Health and Social Work Team delivering assessment, care and risk management and review to adults with a learning disability (and a range of additional complex needs). As an Advanced Practitioner, you will be expected to hold a complex caseload, offer mentorship to less experienced colleagues and students, chair complex meetings and contribute to a range of service developments. You must also hold or gain a Post Graduate certificate in a relevant field.
The post is based within Camelon Social Work Office; however, you may be required to work from any other Falkirk Council premises, and you must have the ability to travel as per service demand.
A DipSw or equivalent and registration with SSSC are essential.
If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.
For an informal discussion please contact Carolyn Hamilton or Mark McGinley (Assistant Team Managers) on 01324 506070 or via Carolyn.Hamilton@falkirk.gov.uk or Mark.McGinley@falkirk.gov.uk
