Due to continued growth and new contracts, we currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer with a strong manufacturing background to join the team at Greenfield Engineering.

The quality engineer role will oversee and work with teams at both our manufacturing sites. Further development of our procedures end-to -end to drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce the opportunities for defects.

The successful candidate will be forward thinking, someone able to work under their own initiative to pre-empt and reduce quality issues from arising through being pro-active. Have a strong hands-on approach with plenty of shop floor presence.
They will have experience in quality best practice such as APQP and PPAP, with a good understanding of:

❖ Statistical Process Control (SPC)
❖ Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
❖ Process Flow Diagrams (PFD)

Able to update and maintain all quality records and have good communication and IT skills.

Key Responsibilities:
❖ Conduct inspections, tests, and audits on products and manufacturing processes.
❖ Take responsibility for recording, progressing, communicating with customers, and closing off issues that have arisen using 8D and other problem-solving techniques.
❖ To be heavily involved in training, mentoring, and the education of staff and apprentices on quality control best practices.
❖ Identifying defects and implement corrective and preventative action within the team (CAPA)
❖ Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to drive improvements in quality performance.
❖ Have responsibility across the company including sales, design, and order processing wherever issues arise or are uncovered. Supporting design reviews and prototype builds.
❖ Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and policies.
❖ Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with ISO, BS or other relevant standards with section leaders.
❖ Prepare and present quality reports in senior management team review meetings.
❖ Subjugation on quality

Qualifications
We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer with demonstrable history of success, coupled with a sound understanding of engineering principles. Key areas of competency we require will include:
❖ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook etc)
❖ Proactive attitude towards problem-solving and process improvements.
❖ HNC in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent qualification (desirable)
❖ ISO qualified Lead Auditor (would be advantageous)
❖ Conscientious and responsible
❖ A proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.
❖ A keen eye for detail and a results driven approach
❖ Good understanding of Engineering drawings
❖ Excellent communication and networking skills

Experience gained in a sheet metal environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

Salary: £39,000 - £46,000 per annum

Hours of work: Monday – Thursday 08.00-17.00
Friday 08.00 -14.30

Holiday Entitlement – 28 days (including bank holidays)
