SEMH Pastoral Worker (Sleep-in) - Great Yarmouth
Location: Great Yarmouth, East Norfolk
Hours: 35 hours per week + 1 weekly sleep-in
Salary: Temp £14 - £18/hr Perm: £22,547-£24,458 plus £1,344 sleep-in allowance
Contract: Temp - Perm, Term Time + 1 week
Join our partner school as a SEMH Pastoral Worker, supporting boys aged 7-16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs in a residential setting. This role includes a 4-week period as a SEN Teaching Assistant to ensure suitability and consistency for our pastoral team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide care, supervision, and emotional support
Act as key adult for a small group of students
Deliver activities to build confidence and social skills
Maintain clear records
Work with parents and agencies
Requirements:
Experience with SEMH or in care/education settings (Required)
GCSE passes grade 4 or higher in English and Maths (Required)
Teaching Assistant Qualification (Desirable)
Ability to manage challenging behaviour with empathy
Resilient, committed, and a strong team player
