The Opportunity
A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join their growing team within the Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology sector. This is a chance to work on a diverse portfolio of projects—from niche consultancy assignments to major national programmes—where your systems thinking and leadership will make a tangible impact. Your duties and responsibilities will be
- Provide expert guidance to project and engineering managers on systems engineering best practice.
- Lead the application of structured methodologies and tools to solve complex client challenges.
- Promote and implement model-based approaches to systems development and analysis.
- Develop strategies that support key decision-making milestones for clients.
- Deliver engineering outputs aligned with time, budget, and quality expectations.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to support business growth and innovation.
- Mentor and support junior engineers to build capability across the team
You will have the following qualifications and experience
- Ideally you will have the following qualifications and experience
- Degree qualified in a STEM discipline or equivalent professional experience in engineering.
- Chartered or professionally recognised status (e.g. CEng, CSEP).
- Hands-on experience with MBSE tools such as Sparx EA or Cameo.
- Familiarity with modelling languages and frameworks including SysML, UML, TOGAF, MODAF.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering processes and lifecycle standards (e.g. ISO 15288).
