We currently have an exciting opportunity for Catering Assistant - 20 hours per week to join our fantastic team at Pear Tree High School
This is a Grade 1, permanent, part-time post working 20 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The starting salary is £11,999 and the full time equivalent is £24,413. This role will commence upon the pre-employment checks are completed.
We’re looking for:
A reliable and hardworking Catering Assistant to support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to prepare and serve meals while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
You should be comfortable working around children and able to work well as part of a team. A flexible approach is essential, as the role will involve a variety of tasks including food preparation, serving, cleaning, and assisting with stock and deliveries.
Main purpose of the job:
You will work as part of the school catering Team and contribute to the achievement of its objectives, providing an effective and efficient catering service.
The Catering Team is responsible for delivering an outstanding catering service to our schools, supporting the Trust in its teaching and wider operations by ensuring students and staff are provided with excellent customer service and high quality, nutritious meals to support a healthy learning environment
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and serving food, maintaining the associated catering areas in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
- Setting up and cleaning kitchen areas and equipment and associated catering and dining areas as required
- Ensuring compliance with food hygiene and COSSH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations at all times.
- Providing a customer focused services, which is courteous and responsive and meets the needs of the customers at all times.
- Take appropriate responsibility and action for safeguarding, be aware of confidential issues and maintain as appropriate
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
