About You
At Cornerstone we don’t recruit on experience and qualifications. We’re more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team! We’ll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you’ll need to build a career within the Health & Social Care sector. We’ll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!
All we'll need you to bring is;
Good listening and communication skills
A caring attitude and approach
A positive approach to learning
An understanding of the importance of routines and guidelines
The ability to cook (baking would be a bonus too!)
Being a Support Practitioner
The great thing about this job is that two days are never the same. As a Support Practitioner you'll provide care and support with all elements of normal every day living, including cooking, housework, finances, personal care and medication.
You'll also play a huge part in supporting individuals to reach their goals and play an active part in their local community. Some of their hobbies and interests include baking, arts & crafts, hair & beauty treatments, pool, model trains & boats, walking, swimming & attending social events and concerts.
Shift Patterns
Our services provide support 24 hours, 7 days a week, so shift patterns will include early mornings, days, evenings and weekends. Weekend, public holidays, sleepovers and/or waking nights may also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.
Sound interesting? Pop along with your CV and say hello on 29th August, we'd love to meet you. If you are unable to attend on the day, please click on the 'Apply Now' button and fill in one of our online application forms and we will be in touch.
Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.
Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
