Our Team Leaders play a critical role in helping deliver justice, this role will enable you to demonstrate and develop your leadership skills. You are responsible for making sure your team deliver excellent administrative support and customer service to service users, judiciary and management.

Your role

Leading your team, you’ll focus on the team’s area of work, making sure that work is prioritised and organised and your team fully skilled to meet objectives. As an effective Team Leader, you recognise the importance of the team’s overall wellbeing and can motivate your team to succeed.

You will contribute to the delivery of operational, performance and service standard targets and provide statistical data for the management team and judiciary.

Your keen eye for detail and desire for continuous improvement is key to your success. Monitoring and analysing performance areas and trends, conducting ongoing reviews of procedures and work practices is essential, as is your ability to successfully recommend improvements, navigate change and manage the implementation of new initiatives and legislation.

Your skills and experience

• Ability to motivate and support your team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve effective performance.
• Experience of working in an administrative role in a customer-focussed environment
• IT proficient with the ability to learn and adapt to different technologies and software packages.
• Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills

Other Responsibilities:

In addition to the generic Team leader role the post holder will be required to carry out the below responsibilities

• Act as the Senior Person on Site (SPOS) for Hereford Magistrates’ Court ensuring the operation of the site within HMCTS policies.
• Act as the Fire & Incident Control Officer (FICO) for Hereford Magistrates’ Court ensuring the site is compliant with all relevant legislation and HMCTS policies regarding fire. Ensure all fire safety audits, tests and drills are completed and recorded within the relevant reporting periods. In the event of a fire or other incident act as the responsible person in charge ensuring any evacuation is carried out effectively.
• Be the Single point of Contact (SPOC) for all accommodation related issues at Hereford Magistrates’ Court. Communicating regularly with the local Judiciary, Senior Management, and staff about accommodation related issues. Regularly meeting with Facilities Management to discuss outstanding tasks and accommodation issues
• Act as the Business continuity lead for Hereford Magistrates’ Court ensuring all incidents are dealt with and reported to ensure the ongoing operation of court business.
• Act as the Health & Safety Lead for Hereford Magistrates’ Court ensuring all relevant reports are completed and appropriate actions taken, working closely with Senior Management, Facilities Management colleagues and Regional leads.
• Work alongside Facilities Management (FM) colleagues to ensure all accommodation tasks and building related failures are reported promptly and that contractors attend to resolve within the agreed timescales. Escalating concerns to FM and Senior Management
