North Lanarkshire Council is committed to promote the welfare of adults and children and your role as Social Work Assistant based in Coatbridge Community Care Team is critical and as part of the team, you will be required to provide a professional service across the local authority working within Government Legislation, National and Council polices.
You will also participate in the delivery of individual and groupwork programmes and prepare reports and assessments appropriate to the grade of the post.
Your role will include offering advice, support and assistance to both individuals and families and to partners agencies including police, health and housing colleagues. You will also be involved in some individual and groupwork programmes and assist in preparing written reports and assessments.
Educated to higher grade level or SVQ level 2 or equivalent and have extended experience working within a Social Work/Social Care setting is essential. An HNC/SVQ Level 3 in care or equivalent is desirable.
You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.
Work pattern:
35 hours per week - Monday to Thursday - 08:45 to 16:45 - Friday - 08:45 to 16:15.

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
