We are seeking a Sales, Credit Control & Direct Debit Collections Officer to join our finance team. This role is crucial in maintaining strong relationships with customers and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes. You will be responsible for managing bookings transactions, overseeing credit control, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts and processing direct debit collections.
Rota: Monday - Friday. Hours of work are flexible and can be agreed upon discussion.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookings Transactions:
• Deliver the end-to-end bookings process, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
Sales Invoices:
• Generate issue sales invoices accurately, promptly and record in the leisure and financial systems.
• Allocate sales invoice income to the correct transactions and carry out daily reconciliations.
• Communicate with customers to address any queries or discrepancies related to sales invoices.
Credit Control:
• Communicate with customers regarding outstanding invoices and payment terms. Maintain effective routines to monitor and control debt recovery in accordance with our debt recovery procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions and prepare reports as required.
Direct Debits Collections Processing:
• Payment scheduling; Processing of direct debits for collection, ensuring accuracy and timely execution. Submitting direct debit files to the bank
• Failed payment handling; processing rejections, retries and communicate with customers regarding direct debit setups, changes, and issues.
Financial Reporting:
• Assist in preparing financial reports related to sales and credit control.
Compliance and Controls:
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal policies related to sales, credit control, and direct debits.
General Responsibilities for all roles
• Assist with final accounts tasks in accordance with the final accounts timetable.
• Assist with the development/improvement of Abbeycroft’s Financial management System.
• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of this post.
What We’re Looking For
• Minimum 4 GCSE's grade A-C / 4-9 including Maths and English
• AAT level 2 qualification (desirable)
• One years’ experience of sales ledger
• Confident using financial systems and Excel
• Experience of Direct Debit collection procedures and BACS regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively
