Job Title: General Labourer

Reports to: Site Supervisor / Foreman

Job Purpose:
To perform a range of manual tasks to assist skilled tradespeople and support the smooth operation of work on-site. The General Labourer will ensure work areas are clean, materials are in place, and basic tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
Assist with setting up and dismantling work sites
Perform basic construction, demolition, or assembly tasks as directed
Maintain cleanliness and safety of the site
Operate hand tools and basic machinery safely
Follow health and safety regulations and report any hazards
Support skilled workers Plumbers and electricians as needed
Handle deliveries and manage stock and materials on-site
Perform general maintenance and repair tasks
Requirements:
Essential:
Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks
Good understanding of health and safety practices
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
Desirable:
Previous experience in a labouring or construction role
Valid Green CSCS card
Familiarity with basic tools and equipment
Working Conditions:
Outdoor and/or indoor work depending on site and industry
May involve early starts, long hours, and weekend work
Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required
