Job Description
Glasgow Life is looking for an Open Programme Convenor to join us on a part-time temporary contract, ending on 30 September 2026. The purpose of the role is to oversee, support and deliver Glasgow International’s Open Programme. Reporting to the Festival Director, you will be part of a dedicated team which oversees and delivers the 2026 Glasgow International Festival of Contemporary Art.

The role
As a Glasgow International Open Programme Convenor you’ll be an integral part of the team and will oversee, support and deliver Glasgow International’s Open Programme. Reporting to the Festival Director, you will work alongside a dedicated team.
If you’re interested in joining us as Glasgow International’s Open Programme Convenor you’ll need:
-Experience of working in festivals or contemporary arts spaces and/or arts in education/community settings.
-Demonstrated knowledge of Glasgow’s visual art community.
-Demonstrated experience of project management.
-Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with a variety of partners, groups and organisations.
-Production experience – knowledge of timelines and what is needed to install exhibitions and to deliver live events.

We offer hybrid working for some roles, with teams working between the office and home. Your line manager will agree these days with you, if suitable. This balance enables you to continue much-needed collaborative working.
Our office is based at Tramway and has great links to public transport with parking nearby.
This role is a temporary contract and involves working part time (4 days per week) until 31 December 2025, and then full time (5 days per week) from 1 January 2026 to 30 September 2026.
For Fixed Term Roles - If offer is made to internal employee (Glasgow Life or Council Family), at the end of the temporary period, eligible employees, if agreed will have a right to return to a role at their substantive grade within the council family.
