Our client, a well-established legal firm with a specialism in landlord and tenant law, is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their friendly, collaborative Barry-based team. This is an additional role to support their expanding housing law caseload. Key Responsibilities
  • Handle landlord and tenant residential cases, providing knowledgeable advice on notices, HMO regulations, injunctions (access and anti-social behaviour)
  • Assist clients with rent repayment orders, disrepair claims, harassment, unlawful eviction issues, and trespass cases
  • Support enforcement actions involving High Court Sheriffs and bailiffs
  • Work on cases involving company-let agreements, particularly local authority transitions
  • Draft legal documents and correspondence clearly and professionally
  • Provide advice over the phone in an eloquent, approachable manner
  • Collaborate with the team, following firm procedures and maintaining reliability
  • Attend court when necessary (under supervision or as directed)

Person Specification

  • Demonstrable experience in housing law, particularly landlord and tenant matters
  • Exposure to advising social and private tenants
  • Strong understanding of relevant housing legislation and practice areas
  • Friendly, approachable, solution-focused attitude
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Team player who thrives in supporting and being supported by colleagues
  • Professional and confident communicator
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow policies precisely
  • Reliable and committed

Additional Information

  • Salary: £25,000 - £28,000/year DOE (with potential wiggle room)

  • Location: Primarily office-based in Barry; hybrid may be considered for candidates living an hour or more away
