Chilypep is recruiting for a vital post within our delivery team at HOME (Help with Our Mental ‘Ealth) the Early Support Hub for young people’s mental health and emotional wellbeing in Barnsley.
Young people aged 11 -25 can refer themselves or be referred by other professionals or parents to access holistic, creative and trauma informed mental health support at their own pace.
At HOME we have developed a blended approach to therapeutic youth work which provides young people in Barnsley with platform to seek safety and stability whilst then helping them to develop their skills, manage their emotions and handle their relationships.
HOME is staffed by a blended team of youth workers, mental health professionals and creative practitioners.
The Triage and 1-2-1 Project Worker is a key role within the HOME team as it is one of the first points of contact for young people, parents, carers and professionals who refer to HOME.
The ideal candidate therefore will be energetic, compassionate, and an experienced practitioner with an understanding of a wide range of mental health issues experienced by children and young people and the knowledge and experience of how to appropriately respond to these creatively. They must also have strong organisational and administrative skills.
They will be thoughtful and flexible placing young people and their welfare at the heart of their practice and have a compassionate, relational approach. They will have a demonstrable commitment to equality and social justice and be a positive team player willing to share learning and good practice.
