A Vacancy at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
To support the Head of Clinical Training and GTEC Senior Management with the development and management of all GTEC Programmes and in any relationships or activities the Head of Clinical Training and GTEC Senior Management may participate across the local, national and wider international footprint.
To provide an effective and comprehensive range of administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the responsibilities and functions expected of The Head of Clinical Training and GTEC Senior Management in the delivery of undergraduate anatomy training and teaching in collaboration with The University of Greater Manchester. This is a national pilot scheme and the project is being closely monitored by the University of Leicester and may become a national model of training.
To create and maintain effective working relationships at all levels, with internal and external stakeholders, including Host Trusts, University of Greater Manchester, Edgehill University, NHS England, Leicester University and any other organisations associated with Medical Programmes.
Act as point of contact for all communications to the Head of Clinical Training/GTEC Senior Management and deal with all such communications appropriately, including exchange of sensitive or contentious information.
Undertake specific project work as requested by the Head of Clinical Training/GTEC Senior Management.
The post involves the management and physical handling of protected human cadaveric tissue and animal tissue / parts. Interacting with surgeons to prepare for the lab session including discussing appropriate cadaveric models, required instrumentation.

· Assimilate, manage and communicate a wide range of information, some of which will be sensitive, complex and may involve matters relating to individual medical students or to matters of commercial confidence.
· Communicate with tact, understanding and discretion when interacting with internal and external stakeholders. Liaise with multiple stakeholders including honorary senior lecturers, Professors and administrators in other universities and NHS Trusts.
· Respond to all queries, correspondence and telephone calls coming into the office in a timely and professional manner. Initiate action where possible and report progress as appropriate. Employ judgement to ensure that messages and actions are prioritised and brought to the attention of the Head of Clinical Training/GTEC Senior Management as appropriate with any relevant supporting information.
· Manage emails relating to the surgical training (anatomy) of undergraduate teaching and follow up actions ensuring all deadlines are met.
· Act on behalf of the Head of Clinical Training/GTEC Senior Management, in their absence, by making rapid and accurate assessments of urgent/sensitive situations that can be addressed by appropriate colleagues within the Department to meet deadlines, provide solutions and avoid disruptions. Formulating plans to manage change.
· Planning and organisation of stakeholder meetings, lectures, conferences/events and international visits, including liaising with speakers, sourcing venues, inviting participants and guests and devising and sending details of confirmation of booking and joining instructions etc.
· Co-ordinate the rolling programme of module assignments and exams working with Honorary Senior Lecturers to ensure the return of grades and comments are submitted in line with University Deadlines and escalating to Head of Clinical Training/GTEC Senior Management, as appropriate.
· To plan, coordinate and provide pastoral support to students during the phase one of the MBChB following all protocols, policies and procedures during their visits to WWL.
· Develop and maintain databases including co-ordination of International Examiners, and other information systems collating feedback forms to facilitate programme development and efficiency and effective working practices.
· Cross cover for other administration team members in cases of absence. Assist other staff at all levels in the use and development of office machinery and equipment and the use of specific IT applications to support their work and the development of their skills set.
