Summary

At Bromford we believe health and safety should empower, not hinder, our success. It’s central to protecting our colleagues, our customers, and the communities we serve - and we’re committed to embedding a culture where safety is a shared responsibility, not a box-ticking exercise. We’re on a mission to become a leading example of best practice in health and safety, and we’re looking for a passionate, experienced health and safety manager to help us get there.

Join Bromford, part of Bromford Flagship, and become part of a leading housing provider delivering community-focused services across the Midlands and South West - all backed by the scale and ambition of the Bromford Flagship group.

This is a pivotal leadership role where you’ll oversee the delivery and continuous improvement of a robust health and safety framework. You’ll be responsible for leading a committed team, shaping policy and practice, and embedding a culture of proactive safety across the organisation. You’ll bring energy, strategic thinking, and deep technical knowledge to drive real impact - ensuring our people and customers are protected while enabling the organisation to thrive.

You’ll manage the day-to-day operations of the health and safety team, providing visible leadership and supporting your team to meet service targets and strategic goals. You’ll act as the key point of contact for health and safety compliance, overseeing everything from RIDDOR reporting and complex incident investigations to leading on our operational delivery objectives and integration plans. Your expertise will help ensure our policies, procedures, and systems are legally sound, practical, and aligned with Bromford’s values. You’ll offer clear, constructive advice to colleagues at all levels - from frontline teams to senior leadership - using data and insight to influence decision-making and drive performance.

This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract. You can be based at any of our main offices in Chipping Sodbury, Tewkesbury, or Wolverhampton, with regular travel across our operating area. We also offer flexibility for home working.

You will have:

  • Proven multi-site experience in a hands-on health and safety role
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation, including asbestos management and noise and vibration exposure
  • A NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Current IOSH membership (or similar) with a strong record of continuing professional development (CPD)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels
  • Confidence in using data to produce clear, insightful reports
  • A practical, people-focused approach to health and safety that delivers real impact
  • A strong commitment to continuous improvement and working in a values-led organisation
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across our operational area
  • A basic DBS check will be required for this role.

The closing date is 31st August 2025 with first stage interviews taking place on 5th September.

If you're ready to help shape a health and safety culture that truly makes a difference - and want to be part of a team that cares deeply about doing the right thing - we’d love to hear from you.
